Real Life Look Alike?

      Not sure if this has been done before, feel free to move or delete the thread Mods.
      So I was at school and there's this guy in my class, who looked so oddly familiar. It was like I've seen him somewhere before.*_* Eventually, I realized he looked exactly like David from Dollshe! This other kid I knew had the same face as Grant Phillipe from Dollshe in mango oriental, and one of my besties looks exactly like Venitu also from dollshe:o! At first I thought I was crazy, so I asked my friends, and the guys, to look at the blank sculpts, then compare them. Strangely enough, everyone agrees, their faces look exactly like the dollshe boys. I'm not complaining because lets be honest, their attractive.:D But I think it's weird they look so similar in the face, and they all look like they came from one company too. :XD:

      So here's a few questions:
      Do you look like any particular sculpt? What is it?
      Do you know someone else that looks like a particular sculpt?
      Would/Do you own a sculpt that looks like someone you know?

      God I hope not. That would be tragic. However, I wouldn't mind looking like a Dollshe Saint.

      No. I have never seen a real person look like a BJD. Unless you count minime heads.

      Would/Do you own a sculpt that looks like someone you know?

      Again, no. That would be...creeper-ish? I could understand a celebrity look-a-like. Random person you currently have a crush on, co-worker, best friend's husband, that girl/guy you secretly wish you were...not so much. But, to each their own. I would feel a bit...dirty, or maybe like a stalker, if I purposefully had a doll that looked like someone I know, but that is just me and my opinion.

      I don't think so. Most sculpt look either very young or very mature. I'm somewhere in between. We need a thread where members can post their photo and have people match them to sculpt they remind them of. :P

      Yes! Dollzone Leon looks exactly like my little brother. All the way down to the poofy lips. The wig in their company photos even looks like his hair.[/b]

       Dollzone Leon is on my wishlist for exactly this reason. I'd love to find sculpts to look like my daughters. I also think it'd be kinda neat to have a doll that looks like me.

      My husband thinks I look like my Unidoll F-14. She does have a nose very much like mine.

      Yes! My oldest son looks so much like Dollstown's Hue or Mui, it's kind of creepy.

      Unfortunately...not attractive enough for anyone to sculpt my features.

      Yes...the lower half of my cousin's face looks like Iplehouse Arvid.
      My mum noticed it when I showed her a picture of Arvid wearing sunglasses (so you couldn't see his eyes). I've asked some of my family members and so far, everyone agrees.

      Yes...I own Arvid. But I didn't get him because of familial resemblance. He was just a good looking sculpt

      Yes, actually. Dollshe's Saint and Bernard are in 'Uncanny Valley' for me- it's like looking into a mirror. Of the two, I would say that Saint is closest in features and proportions, but Bernard tends to look a little more like me when faceuped, chiefly due to his wide eyes.

      While the facial shape is all wrong, Iplehouse Boris' broad smirk is remarkably reminiscent of an acquaintance whom I am not on the best terms with. Their Storm resembles a student I exchanged infrequent, friendly small talk with in college years past, and their Bichun is a smooth-skinned deadringer for a nice young gentleman who has worked at a family-run Chinese restaurant in my local vicinity for years.

      Would/Do you own a sculpt that looks like someone you know?
      I do not currently own any sculpts that are particularly similar to my own face or anyone I know, although I have played with getting a Saint or Bernard, as I have some specific ideas for both sculpts. However, I have noticed that when it comes to SDs, I tend to pick dolls with prominent facial features that resemble my own. While we do not really look alike, I unconsciously seem to search for myself in their aesthetic.

      Funny you should start a thread like this. Not about me but yesterday I saw that woman on the subway and my first thought was "Doll Chateau"! Not any specific sculpt but the general features - eyes, mouth, shape of the face - were most definitely Doll Chateau. XD

      I have "roman" features, so a high nose and high cheekbones, and that's not an extremly common thing to see in dolls because its not traditionally girly. However, I feel like I look a bit like a F65 Chloe because I have massive pouty lips and big anime eyes ;). My mom told me that if Chloe had more of a nose then she'd be a dead ringer for me hahaha

      I have a friend who looks like a Doll Chateau boy because he's incredibly tall (the dude is 6'7") and suuuupppppeeerrr skinny, he's such a gangly guy and something about the way he stands makes me think Cyril. But only If Cyril had a smaller chin, bigger eyes, shaggy brown hair, and was hella punk rock :XD:

      Only if I didn't know that person and if that person wan't real, for example MNMs of an actor's character. I would just find it too weird to have a doll of myself or of a friend/family member. I would feel like I'm invading some part of their personal space. And they would probably think it's weird too hahaha

      Yes!!! I have this new coworker that the very first time I saw him, in my mind I'm screaming
      "Awesome!!! you're a real life Dollshe Saint!!! You look like my Baron!".
      He had this same facial structure and maybe he's 32's body, he's tall lanky.
      Sometimes I'm tempted to tell him that but I'm afraid to creep him. Unfortunately there's only few close friend at work who knows about my hobby.

      I do know someone now. I own a Dollshe Saint.

      Do you look like any particular sculpt? What is it? Soulkid Apple looks like me as a child. I recognized her as looking like child-me almost immediately. I feel a little weird when I look at her, but I still think she's kind of cute and appealing. It's like looking at someone familiar to you, but you're not sure why at first. Then you realize it's you.

      Do you know someone else that looks like a particular sculpt? Every once in a while, I will see a person in passing who resembles a particular BJD sculpt, and it makes me do a double take. But I don't know anyone personally who looks like a BJD.

      Would/Do you own a sculpt that looks like someone you know? I would have to love the BJD for its own sake. I wouldn't want it JUST because it looks like someone I know.

      The Souldoll Apple looks a little bit like I did when I was a kid, around the eyes. But other than that, no.

      When my sister was a baby, she looked like a Leeke Joy. The Soom Spinel unnerved me a bit when it 1st came out because the sculpt greatly resembles my ex.

      No. I don't have a problem with other people owning look-alikes, and admire the really spot-on ones. One of the locals here has a great Mana. Fan homages can be amazing when done well. But it isn't something I have any desire to do personally.

      I looked so much like Doll Chateau Bella as a kid. Narrow eyes, very serious-looking, triangular face, and round little chin.

      My friend Sabrina looks exactly like a soom Sabik. Even their names are similar, and her nick name is even Sabi! It's really quite uncanny.
